IMPORTANT on currency. The 2012 amendment is the one that matters most for exams and it changed a great deal: performers’ rights (ss. 38A and 38B), statutory licensing for broadcasting (s. 31D), the author’s share of royalties in s. 19, the s. 52 fair-dealing list including access for the disabled, and the technological protection provisions in ss. 65A and 65B. Where this subject sets out the post-2012 position it does so from the amending law and from India’s WCT and WPPT obligations, and it flags any point it will not assert.
